Cliffside Park Man Faces Life In Prison For Drug Charge: Prosecutor

A Cliffside Park man faces a possible life sentence for one charge of drug possession with intent to distribute, prosecutors said.

NEWARK, NJ – A 36-year-old Cliffside Park man faces up to life in prison and a possible $10 million fine, for a charge of possession of fentanyl and heroin with intent to distribute, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger said Friday in a news release.

Dawan A. Brown, aka "DB," will spend at least 10 years in prison for the drug trafficking charge, and was detained after his first court hearing on Friday, Sellinger said.

Court records said, according to the news release, that Brown packages and distributes "large amounts" of heroin from an apartment in Harrison. On June 14, police searched the apartment, and recovered approximately two kilograms of narcotics, drug paraphernalia, and around $44,000 contained within a safe.
