PENNSYLVANIA — After a dad from Bergen County died on Sunday trying to rescue two people whose canoe overturned in the Poconos, a fundraiser has started for his family.
Bibin Michael, 40, a father of three from Norwood, N.J., died in the incident that took place shortly before 12:30 p.m. Sunday.
The Pocono Mountain Regional Police said that they were called to the lake off of Sir Bradford Road in Camelot Forest, in the community of Blakseslee in Tobyhanna Township.

Approximately 20 people were staying at a rental near the lake. Two adults went into the lake in a kayak offered by the rental. Wind caused the kayak to flip over and Michael jumped into the water to save the two adults, but disappeared under the water.
"This sudden and devastating loss has left his family facing unimaginable grief," says the fundraiser. "We are creating this GoFundMe to rally support for Bibin's wife and children as they navigate this incredibly difficult time. Your generous contributions will help support the future needs of Aiden, Aloysius, and Ariel as they grow up without their hero father."

Michael was the owner of AAA Wealth Builders LLC in Englewood Cliffs.
"His selfless act of courage, putting his family's safety above his own, truly defines the kind of man he was," wrote Suzanne Soliman. "...Please consider donating what you can to help his family through this devastating period."
