Former Dry Cleaner To Be Converted To Retail Node In Ridgewood
A developer, Abaco, plans to convert a former dry cleaner site into an investment property.
RIDGEWOOD, NJ — A former dry cleaner at 15 Godwin Avenue in Ridgewood will be redeveloped into a new retail location, a Wednesday news release from the commercial real estate agency that represented the sale said.
“15 Godwin Avenue provides the buyer with a unique redevelopment opportunity to bring high-quality retail and office space to Ridgewood,” Josh Krantz, senior vice president at Lee & Associates New Jersey, who represented the seller and buyer, said in the news release.
Abaco, a Clifton family real estate company, purchased the 3,200 square-foot, mixed-use building from the Elmwood Park firm, eyeing it for redevelopment into a retail node, with office space available on the second floor.

Redevelopment, the news release said, is expected to begin immediately on the two-story building, which was previously a Spotless Cleaners & Dryers, and is across the street from Whole Food Markets. Spotless combined with its second location in Ridgewood.
Financials of the transaction were not disclosed, and the type of retail at the location is to be determined.
