Illegal Car Meet In Bergen County Results In 3 Teens Arrested: Cops

An illegal car meet in Ridgefield Park resulted in three teens arrested, and numerous summonses issued and vehicles impounded, police said.

RIDGEFIELD PARK, NJ — A gathering Sunday in a Ridgefield Park parking lot of approximately 50 vehicles that were loudly gunning their engines and burning out resulted in three teenagers arrested, and numerous summonses issued and vehicles impounded, village police Lt. Art Jensen said.

Police responded at 8:37 p.m. to 55 Challenger Road on a report of loud vehicles, which tried to drive away upon spotting the officers. An Infiniti G37 registered in New York was stopped from leaving the scene, Jensen said.

Officers then saw what was later determined to be a "ghost gun" protruding from underneath the driver's seat. The driver, a 16-year-old, was asked to step out of the vehicle, as was the front passenger, 19-year-old Joseph Lombardi, of Staten Island, and the rear passenger, a 17-year-old, police said.
