Illegal Dentistry Practice Results In Significant Injury In Bergen County: Police
A person was significantly injured as a result of two men who were unlawfully practicing dentistry in Dumont, police said.
DUMONT, NJ — A person was significantly injured as a result of an unlawful practice of dentistry that occurred in Dumont, Chief Brian Joyce said.
Dumont residents Diego Rodriguez, a dental assistant, and David Crosby Jupiter, a truck driver, were fraudulently working as dental hygienists in the borough, and were charged and arrested earlier this month, Joyce said.
Rodriguez, 32, and Crosby Jupiter, 44, were charged with aggravated assault, unlawful practice of dentistry, tampering with evidence, conspiracy to commit aggravated assault, conspiracy to commit unlawful practice of dentistry, and conspiracy to commit tampering with evidence.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred in July, when police responded to a medical call in the borough.
Rodriguez was arrested and released on a summons pending his first court appearance. Crosby Jupiter was arrested and charged on a complaint warrant and taken to Bergen County Jail.
