Italian Deli With 'Upscale Flair' Opens In Ramsey

RAMSEY, NJ — A popular Italian, deli-style sandwich shop is opening in Ramsey, according to a marketing release.

Sparo's Deli & Catering is opening its second location in the heart of downtown, and will serve everything that guests have purportedly come to love, including its signature sandwiches, salads and sides, the release said.

First established in 2019 in Montclair, the fast-casual eatery is cutting the ribbon at its new location on 94 East Main Street on May 13.

In addition to its selection of hot and cold sandwiches, there are chicken and eggplant cutlets, broccoli rabe, soups, fries and more. Guests also have the option to customize their own sandwiches.

Founded by chef Adam Rose and Mike Sparacino, Sparo's has developed a menu adapting family recipes with an "upscale flair" and locally sourced ingredients. Many of the sandwiches are named, in fact, for the family members, including Mama Ree and Mama Cici.

"Sparo's brings back the nostalgia of being at grandma's kitchen table," the release said.

The sub shop is open from 10:30 a.m. through 6 p.m.
