Mahwah K-9 Officer Gets Trained At Local Police Academy

Officer Robert Rapp and his K-9 Remco periodically go to the academy for training.

MAHWAH, NJ — Township police Officer Robert Rapp and his K-9 Remco recently attended a training course given by the Morris County Sheriff's Office.

The course was taught at the Morristown Armory. Officers were taught how to be "decoys," or stand-in subjects during practice sessions for the dogs. Police officers wore padding while acting as decoys to avoid being injured.

Officers learned how to deploy K-9s in various scenarios to stop suspects while keeping the community safe.
