Mahwah Man Indicted in Fatal Ramsey Hit-and-Run

Thomas Moylan was charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident and causing a fatal accident while driving without a valid license.

A Mahwah man was charged Monday with leaving the scene of a fatal accident and causing a fatal accident while driving without a valid license after authorities say he fatally struck a pedestrian in Ramsey last August and didn’t stop.

Thomas Moylan Jr., 27, was driving a 1997 Lincoln Town Car by the intersection of Franklin Turnpike and Spring Street in Ramsey when he struck 56-year-old Samuel Tarrant of Queens and continued driving, NorthJersey.com reported. Tarrant later died after being hospitalized with head injuries.

Moylan was arrested two days later after a tip came in reporting a vehicle was parked at Paddington Square condominiums in Mahwah that had damage consistent with hitting a pedestrian, according to Cliffview Pilot.
