Mahwah Mayor William Laforet has issued a nixle alert updating residents of Township regulations and closures after meeting with “Township department heads.”

According to the alert:

  • Municipal offices will be open for business as usual after 10 a.m.
  • Recycling pickup was canceled for Monday. Normal schedule will resume tomorrow.
  • Garbage pickup is canceled after the vendor was unable to send his truck out because of road conditions. Garbage normally scheduled for Monday will be picked up on Thursday morning.
  • No overnight parking on any Township street
  • Please help our Fire Department by shoveling hydrants out on your property.

In addition, “the DPW has plowed all the roads in the Township and will be transitioning to salting in preparation for extreme cold and icing conditions later today,” Mayor Laforet said. “Please be patient. Our main goal is to keep the roads open and apply salt and grit on the roadways later this afternoon.”
