Mahwah Schools On 2-Hour Delay Due To Frigid Temperature

Below-0 wind chills Monday into Tuesday are forecast to blanket North Jersey.

MAHWAH, NJ — Township schools will be on a 2-hour delayed opening schedule Tuesday due to the freezing temperatures still blanketing North Jersey.

"Due to the extremely low temperatures tonight, freezing conditions into tomorrow morning, and many of our students waiting at bus stops in the morning, Mahwah Township Schools will be following a delayed opening schedule," district officials said in a notification Monday night.

More than 2,500 students take schools buses to township schools, the district said.

The low for Monday night into Tuesday is 4 degrees and a wind chill of between 5 and 10 degrees below zero, National Weather Service is forecasting.
