A 15-year-old from Mahwah who normally mows an elderly woman's lawn has instead stolen her car, police in NY said.
MAHWAH, NJ — A 15-year-old boy from Mahwah who normally mows a woman's lawn in Suffern, N.Y., now stands accused of pushing her down and stealing her car.
Police in Suffern said that shortly after noon on Saturday, they got a report from a woman who lives in the West Ward area, who told them that her neighbor was pushed to the ground and had her vehicle stolen.
The victim told police that a young man had come to her home to mow her lawn, and he asked for the keys to her car to move it out of the driveway first. She had already paid him to mow the lawn before, she said.

The woman was treated at the scene for her injury by EMS and was later brought to Good Samaritan Hospital by her son to be evaluated, police said.
The Suffern police were soon notified by the Englewood Police Department in New Jersey that they had located the vehicle in their jurisdiction and attempted to stop it. But the driver fled, striking several vehicles, police said.
The pursuit ended when the driver crashed on Route 4 near the George Washington Bridge, police said. He was taken into custody.
Police say the teen admitted stealing the vehicle, but "became uncooperative and aggressive towards police."
The teen is currently being held in a juvenile detention facility in New Jersey, awaiting arraignment on charges filed by the Englewood Police Department.
Suffern Police Detectives are currently working with the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office so that the suspect will appear in the Youth Part of Rockland County Criminal Court for arraignment on his New York State charges, said the Suffern police.
