Man Caught Trafficking 200 Grams Of Cocaine, Fled Police In Bergen County: Prosecutor

A man was charged after he was caught trafficking 200 grams of cocaine, and sped away from police in Bergen County, the prosecutor said.

ELMWOOD PARK, NJ — A 30-year-old man was charged with multiple offenses after he was caught trafficking 200 grams of cocaine, and subsequently sped away from police in Elmwood Park, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.

Dominick Nicolosi, Jr., a cafe worker, was arrested a day after he had erratically drove away from police trying to apprehend him, thereupon "causing danger to pedestrians and ongoing traffic," a probable cause affidavit said. He had, at one point, driven over the sidewalk to get away.

Nicolosi had agreed to meet someone, who turned out to be an undercover detective, in Elmwood Park, in order to distribute the 200 grams of cocaine. He was idling in his Honda Civic when police approached, court records said.

He had also, the prosecutor's office said, repeatedly distributed cocaine to the undercover detective during the months of September and October.

Nicolosi was charged with second-degree distribution of cocaine, second-degree resisting arrest by eluding, second-degree attempt to distribute cocaine, second-degree conspiracy to distribute cocaine, and third-degree distribution of cocaine.
