Man With Crystal Meth Fought With Mahwah Cops: Police
Bruno Ferreira, 31, of Newark, was aggressive with officers and was taken to the hospital for evaluation, police said.

MAHWAH, NJ — A man with crystal meth had to be restrained and was aggressive with police after a traffic stop Saturday, authorities said.
Bruno Ferreira, 31, of Newark was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute, eluding, receiving stolen property, and obstruction of justice.
Ferreira was irrational and aggressive when authorities searched him at police headquarters, said Chief James Batelli.

Police found a white powder believed to be crystal meth inside a plastic baggie Ferreira had on him, Batelli said. The quantity of crystal meth was "consistent with a distribution amount," he said.
Officer Daniel Stewart saw Ferreira speeding on Campgaw Road and tried to pull him over, but Ferreira kept driving, said Chief James Batelli.

Ferreira finally stopped on Pulis Avenue in Franklin Lakes. The van he was driving was reported stolen, the chief said. He was arrested by Mahwah and Franklin Lakes officers and taken to Mahwah Police headquarters, Batelli said.
After he was aggressive at headquarters, Ferreira was taken to New Bridge Medical Center in Paramus for evaluation, Batelli said.
