Man Dies Of Apparent Suicide In Bergen County: Police

ELMWOOD PARK, NJ — A Elmwood Park man was found dead Thursday on a borough sidewalk with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, police Chief Michael Foligno said.

Police responded at 10:30 a.m. to a report of an person lying on the sidewalk with a severe head injury, and found the 59-year-old dead at the scene.

The victim, who was found on Parkview Avenue near Willow Street, had apparently taken his own life with a .45-caliber handgun.
