Motorist 'Seriously Injured' In Rear-End Car Crash In Mahwah: Police
A motorist stepped out of the car onto a Mahwah roadway and was "impacted" in a rear-end crash that left him seriously hurt, police said.
MAHWAH, NJ — A motorist was seriously injured Thursday morning after stepping out of the car onto a highway in Mahwah, and after the back of the vehicle was plowed into by a Kenworth dump truck, a New Jersey State Police spokesperson said.
A pedestrian, who was not identified, got out of a stopped car in the center lane of I-287 southbound, when the car, a Chevrolet Camaro, was rear-ended by the dump truck, causing it to swerve off the road into a tree, the spokesperson said.
As a result of the two-vehicle crash at 2:43 a.m., the pedestrian was "impacted" by the Camaro and seriously hurt, the spokesperson said. The truck driver was not injured.
