One Dead, Several Hospitalized After Bergen County Crash Near New York Border: Prosecutors
Detours will remain in place on the Palisades Parkway after a fatal crash in Bergen County near the NJ/NY border on Friday.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — One person has died and several are hospitalized following a major crash in Alpine near the New York State border, prosecutors said Friday.
Just before 6 a.m., the Palisades Interstate Parkway Police responded to a crash involving two vehicles in the southbound direction of the Palisades Interstate Parkway, near the New York State line, said Bergen County prosecutors.
One of the occupants suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, prosecutors said. Several other people were taken to the hospital, prosecutors said.

Traffic will likely remain detoured for several more hours while the investigation continues, prosecutors said Friday morning.
