Woman says the pageant is a way to honor her late father.
Mrs. Mahwah Township Paige Lippe, who will be competing in the Mrs. New Jersey competition later this week, is also up for an online award run by the pageant.
According to Lippe, Mrs. NJ fans are now voting between nine contestants for the one they think should win the title.
“There are several awards given in addition to the crown,” Lippe said.

Lippe decided to run earlier this year as a way to honor her father’s legacy.
Lippe’s father, longtime Mahwah resident Dr. Michael Lippe, was killed in a plane crash in 2010. Lippe sais she is running to spread the word about the Dr. Michael S. Lippe Memorial Project, which benefits local EMS efforts.
The Mrs. New Jersey pageant is Saturday, but online voting is ongoing.
