Surrounding towns were notified, and a short time later, the Saddle River Police Department found the vehicle in their jurisdiction and conducted a motor vehicle stop.
Veraportero was arrested and taken to the Mahwah police station.
"Further investigation determined Veraportero was a sub-contractor for an on-line retail service," police noted. "He delivered the package, photographed it on the doorstep and then removed it."
