Suspected Placenta, Fetal Tissue Found In Leonia Lake: Prosecutor
A bag containing what appeared to be a placenta and fetal membranes was found Wednesday in Overpeck Park, the prosecutor's office said.
LEONIA, NJ — A water bag containing what appeared to be a "human placenta and fetal membranes" was pulled from a lake on Wednesday in Overpeck County Park in Leonia, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said in a news release.
A determination of the exact contents of the bag is pending a final report from the Bergen County Medical Examiner's Office, the prosecutor's office said.
No other information is available at this time, the prosecutor's office said.
