Teen Boy Was Victim In Fatal Bergen County Crash Near NY Border: Prosecutor

A teen boy was the victim in an early morning crash on Palisades Parkway recently, Bergen County prosecutors said.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A teen boy was the victim in an early morning crash that closed lanes of the Palisades Parkway recently, prosecutors said.

Bergen County prosecutors had said that on Friday, Feb. 28, just before 6 a.m., Palisades Parkway police responded to a two-car crash in Alpine, near the New York state line. READ MORE: One Dead After Palisades Parkway Crash

An investigation determined that the vehicles involved in the collision were a 2025 Nissan Rogue occupied by four people, and a 2019 Honda CR-V whose sole occupant was its driver, prosecutors said.

One of the passengers in the Nissan was later identified as a 16-year-old boy from New York, who was pronounced dead at the scene, they said.

Another occupant of the Nissan suffered serious injuries, while two other occupants suffered minor injuries, prosecutors said.

The injured occupants were taken to an area hospital for treatment and later released. The
driver of the Honda was not injured, prosecutors said.

The investigation is continuing, and no further information is available at this time, prosecutors said.
