Thursday in Mahwah: Summer Concert, Decision on Council Replacement

Here's a look at what you can expect in Mahwah this Thursday:

The township council is expected to meet Thursday night and decide whether or not a longtime councilman who resigned last month will be replaced by an interim until the November election. The council two weeks ago told residents interested in applying for the position to drop their resumes off at town hall. The council is expected to vote on the applicants Thursday night.

The TD Bank Summer Concert Series at Ramapo College continues Thursday night with a free show from Jimmy and the Parrots, a Jimmy Buffett tribute. The 8 p.m. show is free, and parking is $5. 

Stop by the library at 1:30 p.m. for a Thursday afternoon matinee showing of “The Hobbit.” The showing is free and open to the public.
