Free Tie-Dying And More: Mahwah To Hold 'Green Fair' This Weekend

Mahwah will hold a free Green Fair this weekend with activities and giveaways, and will collect items for charity.

MAHWAH, NJ — People can tie-dye their own shirts, learn how to deal with food waste, and pick up free saplings at the 2025 Mahwah Environmental Commission Green Fair this Saturday.

The fair will include the HELPSY Clothing Collection, Table to Table’s special presentation about food waste, a fermenting demonstration by Sour Bellies, and a tie-dying activity from Mahwah High School’s LEO Club. Bring your white t-shirt to participate.

The LEO Club is accepting gently used sporting equipment and Table to Table Community Food Rescue is accepting cereal and new reusable bags. The Bergen County Animal Shelter will accept gently used linens and towels.

The events run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, although the town is having a few related activities earlier.

Giveaways Earlier

The town is also hosting free giveaways of tree seedlings and compost from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. or while supplies last at the Mahwah Municipal Building Upper Parking Lot from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., they said. they're also hosting paper shredding from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. or until the truck is full.
