Uber Driver Charged With Sexually Assaulting Bergen Woman
Dearan Bennett, 35, of Brooklyn was charged with sexual assault and remanded to the Bergen County Jail.
An Uber driver was charged with sexual assault after an Alpine woman accused him of sexually assaulting her, authorities announced Wednesday.
Dearan Bennett, 35, of Brooklyn, New York was arrested after authorities investigated a claim a female customer made against the man last year, said acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo.
Alpine police responded to a 911 call from a woman June 1, 2018 who said her Uber driver sexually assaulted her, Calo said.

Police and members of the prosecutor's office Special Victims Unit investigated and Bennett was arrested Tuesday, Calo said.
Bennett was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a detention hearing on March 4.
