Wanted Man Burglarizes Dry Cleaner In Bergen County: Police
A man wanted in connection with recent burglaries was accused of breaking into a dry cleaner in Bergen County, police said.
MAYWOOD, NJ — A 40-year-old man wanted in connection with a series of commercial burglaries in Bergen and Passaic Counties was charged and arrested Monday in Maywood, borough Detective Sgt. William Phayre said.
Nicolas Torres, of Passaic, who had allegedly burglarized an office in 2018 in Maywood and was wanted for other recent burglaries across the area, was charged with burglary and criminal mischief, Phayre said.
The charges stem from a burglary that occurred on Sept. 19 at Timely Cleaners & Furriers on West Pleasant Avenue, when officers responded to an activated alarm and discovered an open rear door, police said.

A detective investigated and canvassed the area, and retrieved video surveillance of Torres forcing the door open and entering. The suspect then fled in a vehicle after he activated the alarm, police said.
Torres was found Monday in the rear parking lot of an apartment complex in Clifton, where he was taken into custody. He was taken to the Bergen County Jail where he was lodged pending a court hearing, police said.
