2 Fires, $19K Stolen From Bank Account: Manalapan PD Blotter

MANALAPAN, NJ — Released by Manalapan police and unedited by Patch, all crimes and arrests from Sept. 1 to 7.

On Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at approximately 5:28 p.m., a 68-year-old Manalapan resident reported a fire at a Yates Road residence. The fire was contained to the garage and extinguished shortly thereafter. The Gordons Corner Fire Department, Manalapan Fire Company, an Englishtown-Manalapan First Aid responded and assisted on scene. Patrolman Christopher Schou was the initial responding officer. The Manalapan Fire Marshall Office and Manalapan Police Detective Seth Kreizman responded and investigated the incident.

On Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at approximately 2:07 p.m., a 45-year-old Manalapan Township resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters to report several fraudulent charges made in early September on a credit card belonging to the victim in the amount of $599.95. In investigating the fraud, it was determined the resident also suffered a fraudulent unemployment claim made under their name in Arizona. Ptl. Anthony Cascella handled the report, which is pending further investigation.

On Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at approximately 12:30 p.m., a 75-year-old Manalapan Township resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters to report that an unknown actor(s) had attempted to unlawfully remove money from the victim’s bank account. There was no monetary loss as a result of this incident. Patrolman Kyle Earley handled the report.

On Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at approximately 10:10 a.m., a 44-year-old Manalapan Township resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters to report that an unknown actor(s) filed an unemployment claim using the victim’s personal information. Patrolman Ross Dessel handled the report.

On Monday, September 6, 2021, at approximately 8:00 p.m., a 72-year-old Manalapan resident reported a fire at a residence on Taylor’s Mills Rd. The fire was contained to the kitchen and extinguished by fire personnel shortly thereafter. The Gordons Corner Fire Company, Manalapan Fire Company, Englishtown Fire Department, Monroe Fire Department, and Englishtown- Manalapan First Aid Squad all responded and assisted on scene. Manalapan Fire Marshal’s Office, Monmouth County Fire Marshal’s Office, and Manalapan Detective Seth Kreizman all responded and investigated the incident. Ptl. Kyle Earley handled the report.

On Monday, September 6, 2021, at approximately 6:00 p.m., a 53-year-old Manalapan Township resident reported that sometime during the early morning hours, an unknown actor(s) entered a Crest Fruit Court residence. There was no property reported stolen as a result of this incident. Patrolman Christopher Schou handled the report, which is pending further investigation.

On Sunday, September 5, 2021, at approximately 5:50 p.m., a 43-year-old Manalapan Township resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters to report that sometime during the course of the previous week, an unknown actor(s) utilized the victim’s social security number to create and open a T-Mobile account. There was no monetary loss as a result of this incident.

On Sunday, September 5, 2021, at approximately 7:10 a.m., Andrew Orak, a 58-year-old, married, male resident Old Bridge, who is employed as a sales associate, was charged with theft after he was found stealing scrap metal from the Shell Service Station, located at 199 Route 9 in Manalapan. Mr. Orak was placed under arrest and transported to Manalapan Township Police
Headquarters where he was processed and released after being issued a summons. The value of the metal is unknown at this time. Patrolman John Lightbody was the arresting officer.

On Saturday, September 4, 2021, at approximately 12:09 p.m., a 41-year-old Manalapan Township resident responded to the Manalapan Township Police Headquarters to report that September 3, 2021, a wallet containing various bank cards and identification went missing. Shortly thereafter, an unknown actor(s) utilized the victim’s credit card to make purchases totaling $283.80. Patrolman Mantas Stanionis handled the report, which is pending further investigation.

On Friday, September 3, 2021, at approximately 6:07 p.m., a 41-year-old Manalapan resident reported being harassed by a 47-year-old Manalapan resident on Manalapan Woods Drive. No complaints were signed as a result of this incident.

On Friday, September 3, 2021, at 3:50 a.m., a male suspect, described as wearing black sneakers, black pants, black t-shirt, and a black mask, attempted to gain access to the Eyechic store, located at 55 Route 9, by unsuccessfully attempting to break the glass on the front door and windows. No entry was made. The suspect fled the area in a newer model black Mercedes. Patrolman Brian Cruse handled the report, which is pending further investigation.

On Thursday, September 2, 2021, at approximately 6:30 p.m., a 45-year-old Manalapan Township resident reported that unknown actor(s) removed $19,000 dollars from their bank account via wire transfer without their knowledge. Patrolman Charles Alaimo handled the report., which is pending further investigation.

On Thursday, September 2, 2021, at 1:55 p.m., a 50-year-old Manalapan Township resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters to report that an unknown actor(s) attempted to file for unemployment claim in the victim’s name. Patrolman Douglas Zike handled the report.

On Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at approximately 5:06 p.m., a 41-year-old New York resident reported than unknown actor(s) unlawfully removed a catalytic converter valued at approximately $1,000 from their vehicle between August 30, 2021 and September 1, 2021 while parked on Amberly Drive in Manalapan. Patrolman Jeremy Slad handled the report, which is pending further
investigation.

On Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at approximately 3:59 p.m., a 63-year-old Marlboro Township resident reported being threatened by male Manalapan resident, unknown age. This incident is pending the signing of complaints. Patrolman Matthew Porricelli handled the report.

On Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at approximately 2:20 p.m., a 57-year-old Manalapan Township resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters to report that an unknown actor(s) unlawfully removed $1,000.00 from their personal checking account with the use of a fraudulent check. Patrolman Ross Dessel handled the report.

On Wednesday September 1, 2021 at approximately 1:03 p.m., a 77-year-old Manalapan Township resident received a bad check in the amount of $5,400 for services completed. Patrolman Kevin Ruditsky handled the report, which is pending further investigation.

On Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at approximately 1:00 p.m., a 56-year-old Manalapan Township resident reported that an unknown actor(s) unlawfully removed a catalytic converter valued at $1,000 from a 2003 Honda Odyssey while it was parked overnight near a Meadow Green Circle residence. Patrol Officer Jean Letts handled the report, which is pending further investigation.
