4 Freehold Regional High School District Candidates File Petitions
In unofficial county school board filings, the Freehold Regional High School Board of Education saw four filing for four open seats.

MANALAPAN, NJ — Petitions were filed by four candidates for the four seats up for election to the Freehold Regional High School Board of Education in November.
Among the municipalities represented in the regional high school system of six high schools, here is the unofficial list of candidates, as posted by the county Clerk of Elections Thursday. The filing deadline was 4 p.m., July 31:
Representing Colts Neck (full term, vote for one): Carl Accettola, Pheasant Drive, Colts Neck.

Representing Marlboro (full term, vote for one): Michael Messinger, Girard St., Marlboro.
Representing Freehold Township (full term, vote for one): Elizabeth A. Higley, Melcher Court, Freehold.

Representing Freehold Borough (one-year unexpired term, vote for one): Amanda McCobb, Lawrence Place, Freehold.
Messinger is the current board president and Higley and McCobb are incumbents, according to the district website. Accettola is a former board member from Colts Neck and former board president, he said.
There are no seats up for a representative from Englishtown, Manalapan, Farmingdale or Howell, according to the county information.
According to the board website, the board represents eight communities in western Monmouth County.
The Freehold Regional High School District Board of Education consists of nine residents elected from each of our sending communities - Colts Neck, Englishtown, Farmingdale, Freehold Borough, Freehold Township, Howell (two representatives are elected from Howell), Manalapan, and Marlboro.
