MANALAPAN, NJ — If you’re like many of your Manalapan neighbors, you may spend a good part of the holiday season with your credit card in hand buying gifts for family and friends. Coming up soon is a chance to give back to the local community.

Giving Tuesday, which in 2024 falls on Dec. 3, is a day dedicated to supporting nonprofit and community groups.

Since 2012, nonprofits worldwide have used the Tuesday after Thanksgiving to galvanize fundraising, rally volunteers and add momentum to their causes.

  1. The Foundation for Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School (MERS): Founded by a group of dedicated parents and community members, the Foundation for MERS provides financial assistance to PK-8 schools throughout the district and enhances the district’s education.
  2. The Friendship Circle of Central Jersey: Promotes a greater awareness and understanding of the unique needs and gifts of people with special needs, and encourages respect and empathy for those facing challenges.
  3. Garden State Animal Rescue Center: Aims to improve the welfare and quality of life for animals by providing rescue, veterinary care, enrichment and shelter.
  4. Guiding You Support Services: Aims to create a nurturing and empowering environment where individuals find solace, support and a pathway to personal growth.
