$80K Car Stolen From Open Garage In Manalapan, Police Say

Theft of an $80,000 car took place on Rockingham Court in Manalapan; another stolen car was reported abandoned on the same street that day.

MANALAPAN, NJ — A vehicle worth about $80,000 was stolen from the garage of a Rockingham Court home on Sept. 23, police reported.

A Manalapan resident, 50, reported the incident to police. He told police someone entered the opened garage door and stole the car. Patrolman Matthew Parke handled the incident.

Meanwhile, on the same day, a township resident, 49, reported an unoccupied suspicious vehicle parked on Rockingham Court.

That vehicle was found to be reported stolen from Elizabeth in Union County. Sgt. Phillip Accatatta handled the report.

  • On Sept. 21, a Manalapan resident, 61, reported that an unknown person tried to enter a motor vehicle that was parked in the driveway of a Gawain Drive residence. Patrolman Christopher Oleksy handled the report.
  • On Sept. 24, a township resident, 38, reported that an unknown person tried to enter a motor vehicle that was parked in the driveway of a Westbrook Way residence. Patrolman Everett McNulty handled the report.
  • On Sept. 26, a Manalapan resident, 45, told police someone removed a license plate from a vehicle. Patrolman Sean McCarthy handled the report.
  • On Sept. 24, a Hillsborough resident, 44, told police an unknown person broke the window of a vehicle while it was parked at Sportika, 150 Woodward Road in Manalapan. Patrolman Thomas Butz handled the report.

All the matters are being investigated.
