MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ — Tuesday and Wednesday’s air quality could be dangerous for some groups in Monmouth County, the NJ Department of Environmental Protection said.

On Tuesday, officials said it will be an Air Quality Action Day due to the day’s ozone levels reaching the orange range, meaning the air could be unhealthy for sensitive groups.

The forecast for Tuesday is warm temperatures, sunny skies and light variable winds, according to the NJ DEP.

On Wednesday, officials said it will be an Air Quality Action Day again due to the day’s ozone levels reaching the orange range.

Wednesday’s forecast calls for temperatures that could reach close to 100 degrees, officials said, with abundant sunshine and southwest winds.

Sensitive individuals, including children, the elderly and people with respiratory diseases such as asthma, should avoid strenuous activities in the afternoon and early evening, officials said.
