Another Porch Theft Reported; Horse Sale Disputed In Manalapan
Manalapan police reported a number of recent thefts in the township, including one in which a man from New York said his horse was sold.
MANALAPAN, NJ — Police said a number of thefts were recently reported in the township, including the sale of a horse.
- On Oct. 6, a New York resident, 84, reported that an acquaintance unlawfully sold the victim’s horse in Manalapan without his knowledge. Sgt. John Lightbody handled the report, and the matter is being investigated.
- There was another porch theft in the township. On Oct. 10, a Manalapan resident, 48, told police a package was stolen from the front porch of the house on Justin Way. It was valued at $1,188. Patrolman Jeffrey Emslie handled the report.
- On Oct. 10, a Manalapan resident, 53, reported that a former work associate stole miscellaneous tools valued at approximately $5,000. Patrolman Sean McCarthy handled the report.
- On Oct. 7, employees of the Delta gas station, 300 Gordons Corner Road, reported that an unknown person burglarized the business an removed $5,267 in cash. Patrolman Mathew Mattia handled the report.
- Also on Oct. 7, another business reported a theft. At about 5:16 a.m., an unknown person burglarized the Gold-N-Time jewelry store, 700 Tennent Road in Manalapan, and removed an unspecified amount of merchandise. Patrolman Dennis O’Brien handled the report.
Two incidents were reported involving Castle Couture, 355 Route 9:
- On Oct. 4, employees there reported an unknown person fraudulently removed $2,600 from the business’s bank account. Patrolman Matthew Schwartz handled the report.
- On Oct. 7, at approximately 4:10 a.m., Patrolman Everett McNulty responded to Castle Couture for an alarm activation. An investigation revealed that someone burglarized the business and unlawfully removed an unspecified amount of merchandise, police said.
The matters are all being investigated.
