3,000 Customers Remain Under A Boil Water Advisory In Manalapan
Veolia Water fixes low pressure caused by a water main break in the Knob Hill, Lambs Lane areas. But water quality test results still out.
MANALAPAN, NJ — Veolia Water is continuing its boil water advisory for Manalapan's Knob Hill and Lambs Lane public water systems until results of water quality tests come in, the water company said Tuesday night.
"Although water pressure is restored, residents remain under a boil water advisory until (Tuesday's) water test results are deemed satisfactory and meet safe drinking water standards," said Jane Kunka, communications and community relations manager/municipal water, for Veolia North America.
Testing typically takes 24 to 48 hours following notification of the advisory, she said.

The southern portion of the town is served by Manalapan Township/Veolia. She said a water main break caused the low pressure and crews have been working on the problem since it was discovered.

Police said customers should boil their water for one minute for the following: Drinking, cooking or baking, making ice cubes, taking medication, brushing teeth, washing food, mixing baby formula or food, mixing juices or drinks, feeding pets and all other consumption.
Water does not have to be boiled for showering or washing dishes and clothes, the company said.
The township Facebook site also cautioned about the advisory. The town made a special apology to residents celebrating Diwali, whose holiday rituals may have been affected by the water problems.
One commenter on Facebook said there have been water pressure issues all summer.
The company said it will continue to provide updates and will notify customers when the order is lifted.
