Burglar Steals $10K In Valuables From Manalapan Home

Burglaries, theft of catalytic converter among crimes reported by police in Manalapan.

MANALAPAN, NJ — In its weekly crime report, the Manalapan Police Department cited several thefts involving thousands of dollars.

Several crimes reported for the week of Jan. 31 to Feb. 6. are included here. All are pending further investigation:

  • Feb. 3: A Manalapan resident, 35, reported that an unknown person unlawfully entered a Green Ridge Drive residence and removed items valued at approximately$10,000. Patrolman Brian Schank handled the report.
  • Feb. 6: A Manalapan resident, 61, reported that an unknown person removed a catalytic converter, valued at approximately $2,500, from a vehicle that was parked at a Woodward Road residence. Patrolman Jeffrey Emslie handled the report.
  • Feb. 6: Employees of Etronis World Wide, located at 81 Pension Road in Manalapan, reported that an unknown person removed six cell phones, valued at approximately $7,194.00, from their boxes while in transit to the business from the manufacturer. Patrolman Christopher Makwinski handled the report.
  • Feb. 6: Four people, at approximately 1:34 a.m., burglarized Luxury Labels, located at 335 Route 9, and stole an undetermined amount of merchandise. Patrolman Thomas Butz handled the report.

  • Feb. 2: Employees of Home Sense, 55 Route 9 in Manalapan, reported that two unknown persons shoplifted merchandise valued at approximately $795.46. Patrolman Brandon Rodrigues handled the report.
  • Feb. 2: Employees of Home Goods, 55 Route 9 in Manalapan, reported that two unknown women shoplifted merchandise valued at approximately $1,281.90. Patrolman Hunter Mauro handled the report.
  • Feb. 2: Employees of Wegmans Supermarket, located at 55 Route 9 in Manalapan, reported that an unknown woman shoplifted merchandise valued at approximately $103.70. Patrolman Marshall Bitsko handled the report.

There were also frauds reported in the township, including:

  • Jan. 31: A Monroe resident, 50, reported that an unknown person fraudulently used their credit card information to purchase $1,561.00 of merchandise via the internet. Patrolman Marshall Bitsko handled the report.
  • Jan. 31: A Manalapan resident, 38, reported that an unknown person gained access to their bank account and unlawfully withdrew approximately $90. Patrolman Jeff Emslie handled the report.
