Cars, Catalytic Converters Targeted In Several Crimes In Manalapan
From car theft to an attempted car burglary - and stolen catalytic converters, Manalapan police report incidents involving vehicles.
MANALAPAN, NJ — Cars were targeted in thefts reported in Manalapan last week.
According to police, on Oct. 4, a township resident, 53, reported someone stole a vehicle, valued at $5,000, from a parking lot on Saint Andrews Place in Manalapan. Patrolman Matthew Parke handled the report.
Meanwhile, on Oct. 7, a resident of Green Ridge Drive, 60, told police that someone entered two vehicles parked there and then also attempted to enter the home. Patrolman Ross Dessel handled the report.

There was another attempted house burglary, also Oct. 7, on Beaver Creek Court. A resident, 56, told police that someone tried to enter their home. Patrolman Christopher Capuzzo handled the report.
There were also two thefts of catalytic converters reported in the township:

- Oct. 6, a Clarksburg resident, 63, told police someone removed a catalytic converter from a vehicle while parked in a commuter parking lot. Patrolman Peter Pagano handled the report.
- On Oct. 4, a Manalapan resident, 73, reported that someone removed a catalytic converter from a vehicle that was parked in the driveway of a Livingston Lane residence. Patrolman Connor Kelly handled the report.
Catalytic converters are usually valued at about $1,500.
All matters are under investigation.
