Central Jersey's Jax makes it to the American Idol Top 24

East Brunswick resident, Jackie Cole “Jax” Miskanic, 18, has made it top the Top 24 of American Idol.

“So blessed to be a part of this amazing show with these crazy talented people,’’ she wrote on Instagram earlier today.

On the show earlier this week, she dedicated her performance of Lady Gaga’s “You and I” to her father, a retired New York City firefighter, according to NJ 101.5.

It’s the first time since 2012 that a New Jersey resident has made it to the show’s Top 24, according to NJ.com.

Next week, voting will be open for the show’s viewers.
