Crystal Meth, Roxycodone, Cash and .380 Caliber Gun Seized in Arrest

Anthony Scarfone is facing several drug charges following a two-month investigation.

An Englishtown man is facing drug charges following a two-month investigation of drug sales activity by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s office.

The investigation culminated Tuesday when Anthony Scarfone, 42, was arrested after investigators from the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Strike Force, Englishtown Police Department, and the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit executed a search warrant on his residence and found Crystal Methamphetamine, Roxycodone, plastic containers containing suspected synthetic controlled dangerous substances, about $9,500 in cash proceeds from suspected drug sales, packaging materials consistent with the distribution of narcotics and a loaded .380-caliber semi-automatic handgun, announced acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni. Additionally, pinhole surveillance cameras were found hidden on the exterior of Scarfone’s apartment.

Scarfone is facing second degree charges of Possession with the Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine and Possession of a Handgun While in the Course of Committing a Drug Offense; third degree charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Ecstasy and Possession with the Intent to Distribute Ecstasy, and Possession of Roxycodone; and a disorderly persons offense for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Scarfone is being held in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution on $100,000 bail with no 10 percent option, as set by Englishtown Municipal Judge James M. Newman, J.M.C. 

Despite these charges, every defendant is presumed innocent, unless and until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, following a trial at which the defendant has all of the trial rights guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution and State law.

This case is being prosecuted by Assistant Prosecutor Paul Alexander.  An attorney has not yet entered an appearance on the defendant’s behalf.
