Filmmaking, Chess Among Manalapan Fall Rec Programs
Registration is open for six-session-long programs, both starting in October. See here how to participate.
MANALAPAN, NJ — If you're one of the millions of viewers that was captivated by the world of chess with last year's release of the hit Queen's Gambit then you might want to check out some of the programs Manalapan Parks and Recreation has for this fall.
Starting on October 7, the CheckMate Chess Virtual Instruction program will teach you strategies and offer tips to improve your chess skills over six sessions. Classes are every Thursday from 3 to 4:30 p.m.
The program is designed for both beginners and experienced players. The cost to sign up is $85 and each participant will get a chessboard.

Starting on October 19, The Art of Filmmaking With Stop-Motion will introduce students (grades 4-7) to the art and technique of filmmaking, with steps like writing a script, shooting scenes, editing and adding sound effects. By the end of the six classes, each student will have completed a short movie.
Classes will be on Tuesdays from 4:30 to 6 p.m. and the cost to sign up is $175.
