Founding Member of Springsteen's E Street Band Playing at Freehold Sunday Night Jazz and Blues Concert Series
The Sunday Night Jazz&Blues Concert Series ends on September 7 with special guest Vini "Maddog" Lopez, founding member of the E Street Band.

The Freehold Borough Arts Council (FBAC) is half way through the second season of the Sunday Night Jazz and Blues Concert Series. We are proud to announce that we will be finishing the season strong with special guests, Vini Lopez & Paul Whistler of Dawg Whistler on Sunday September 7th from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Freehold Gazebo on Main Street.
You will not want to miss this evening, you never know just what might happen when they get together, besides a good time!
Vini “Maddog” Lopez, a founding member of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band and drummer on Springsteen’s first two albums. With the band, Lopez, in April, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Veteran Blue-Eyed Soul Singer & Songwriter Paul Whistler’s musical career started as a kid singing Doo-Wop in the streets of New Jersey. Then traveling the world playing keyboards for The Shangra-Las. To the beginnings of the Jersey Shore Music scene, then on to the Pacific Northwest and coast to coast, leading some of the smoking-est R&B Bands in the country while writing & singing some of the best post-modern, past due, retro- future blues being offered today!
FBAC President Jeff Friedman said, “We are so excited to have Vinnie ’Mad Dog’ Lopez and Paul Whistler play for the season finale of the Freehold Borough Arts Council’s Summer Jazz and Blues Series. The wonderful concerts could not be made possible without the hard work of our board members Brian Sullivan and Dru-Anne Palaima.”

Friedman continues, “This entire season has been an excellent mix of jazz and blues artists from around the area. Many have never played Freehold, and others have been back by popular demand. FBAC trustee Dru-Anne Palaima and volunteer Amy Caro Brown have done a terrific job of utilizing their connections and bringing these artists to town.”
On August 17th, we will have The Stone Dog Trio, August 24th will feature Uncle Funky, and August 31 will be Kati Beddow Brower.
Seating for this popular and free concert series is provided by downtownfreehold.com. People who wish to may also enjoy one of many outdoor restaurants found in the area of the gazebo and still enjoy the music.
