Manalapan Police reported two incidents of fraud from Jan. 1 through Jan. 6.
MANALAPAN, NJ — Manalapan Police reported incidents of fraud, assault, identity theft and more from Jan. 1 through Jan. 6.
Jan. 1
A 38-year-old Manalapan resident reported being assaulted at a Franklin Lane home, resulting in minor injuries. No complaints were signed as a result of the incident.
Jan. 2
A 46-year-old Lavallette resident reported that someone stole construction material worth $24,000 from a construction site on Mustang Drive.

Christopher Young, 34, of Freehold, was pulled over on Craig Road for unnamed motor vehicle violations. Young was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, resisting arrest, obstruction and aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer. Young was brought to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and turned over to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution pending a future court appearance.
Jan. 5
A 57-year-old Staten Island, NY resident reported that someone damaged a vehicle while it was parked in the parking lot of Best Buy, located at 15 Route 9 in Manalapan. The estimated cost of damage to the vehicle was reported to be $20,000.

A 63-year-old Toms River resident reported that someone fraudulently purchased an iPad and opened several accounts using the victim’s personal information at the Verizon Store, located at 55 Route 9 in Manalapan.
Jan. 6
A 51-year-old Manalapan resident reported that someone opened a cell phone account in the victim’s name. No monetary loss was reported as a result of the incident.
