MANALAPAN, NJ — Manalapan Police reported incidents of fraud, harassment, vandalism and more from Aug. 13 through Aug. 19.
Aug. 13
A 51-year-old Freehold resident reported that their power washing equipment (valued at $4,000) was unlawfully removed from the inside of their vehicle while it was being serviced at a business in Manalapan over the previous nine days.
A 35-year-old Manalapan resident reported that someone used their credit card and charged $4,000 to buy a laptop.

A 56-year-old Manalapan resident reported that they were being harassed via TikTok live by someone they knew.
A 35-year-old Manalapan resident reported that someone tried to withdraw $4,500 from their savings account, though they were unsuccessful in obtaining the money.

Around 10:30 p.m., patrols responded to Eliot Road for a report of a motor vehicle accident. As a result of the crash investigation, police found that the driver was operating a vehicle while intoxicated. The driver was arrested and processed at Manalapan Township Police Headquarters before being released on a summons pending a future court date.
Aug. 14
A 26-year-old Manalapan resident reported a fraud incident where someone posed as a loan company via phone and convinced the victim to give them their social security number. The victim is not at any monetary loss at this time.
A 55-year-old Manalapan resident reported being harassed over their phone and computer by someone they did not know.
A 34-year-old Manasquan resident reported that someone took cash out of their wallet after they left it behind in a bathroom at a business located in Manalapan.
Aug. 15
Vandalism was reported at Manalapan High School, where someone used red spray paint on the varsity baseball field's west dugout.
A 70-year-old Manalapan resident reported that they were defrauded of $264.98 after contacting a utility company phone number they looked up online, which was fraudulent, and providing the person who answered with their credit card information.
Around 7 p.m. 38-year-old Manalapan resident reported being harassed by their neighbor.
Aug. 18
Around 11 a.m., a 38-year-old Manalapan resident reported being harassed by their neighbor.
A 68-year-old Manalapan resident reported multiple attempts of fraudulent withdrawals from their bank account. The victim reported to be at no monetary loss.
Aug. 19
A 43-year-old Manalapan resident reported an attempted burglary at their home after finding the handle to the back sliding door to be broken. There was no entry into the victim’s home and no items reported missing.
A 58-year-old Manalapan resident reported being harassed by their neighbor.
A 73-year-old Manalapan resident reported that someone listed a newly formed business using the victim’s home address.
A 63-year-old Manalapan resident reported that someone opened a bank account in their name. The account was then closed, and no monetary loss was reported.
