MANALAPAN, NJ — Manalapan Police reported incidents of fraud, simple assault, harassment and more from July 2 to July 8.
July 2
A 48-year-old Manalapan resident reported that someone they did not know tried to coerce them into sending $5,000 to an unknown Zelle account.
July 3
A 79-year-old Manalapan resident reported that someone they did not know tried to fraudulently obtain $58,150 of their money by remotely accessing the victim’s computer.

A 74-year-old Marlboro resident reported that their wallet was stolen by someone they did not know while shopping at a retail store in Manalapan. The victim reported a loss of $1,732.
A 28-year-old Manalapan resident reported that their Kawasaki dirt bike, valued at $4,000, was stolen from within a shed on their property. The theft occurred sometime between June 29 and July 3.

July 5
A 65-year-old Manalapan resident reported that $107,953.95 worth of cryptocurrency was unlawfully removed from their account by someone they did not know.
July 6
A 46-year-old Manalapan resident reported being assaulted by someone who was visiting their home. The victim reported being punched in the face and did not wish to pursue criminal complaints.
July 7
At 8:57 a.m., patrol officers responded to a home in Manalapan for a structure fire. Members of the Millstone Township, Manalapan Township and Monroe Township Fire Departments responded and extinguished the fire. The Manalapan Township Detective Bureau and the Monmouth County Fire Marshals Office assisted with the investigation and deemed the incident to be non-suspicious.

A 19-year-old Monroe resident reported being verbally harassed at their place of employment by a customer.
A business in Manalapan reported a shoplifting incident where $317.94 worth of merchandise was stolen on July 1.
A 20-year-old Englishtown resident reported that someone they did not know unlawfully removed property valued at $500 from their purse while at their place of employment in Manalapan.
A 29-year-old Manalapan resident reported being a victim of fraud after sending $389 to a person they did not know, whom they communicated with online.
A 26-year-old Spring Lake resident reported that they were assaulted while working at a home in Manalapan. The victim reported that this altercation began as a verbal argument that turned physical when the accused struck them in the hand.
July 8
A 19-year-old Monroe resident reported being verbally harassed at their place of employment by a customer.
A 62-year-old Manalapan resident reported that someone they did not know tried to purchase 25 items using their credit card, estimated to $4,000. No monetary loss was reported at the time.
