Manalapan Police reported four incidents of fraud from Sept. 3 through Sept. 9.

MANALAPAN, NJ — Manalapan Police reported incidents of fraud, theft, vandalism and more from Sept. 3 through Sept. 9.
Sept. 3
An Englishtown resident reported that in March 2024, on their property in Manalapan, someone took multiple unused license plates and is now using the victim’s old NJ registration on a silver BMW. This has led to the victim receiving summonses in the mail for motor vehicle violations.
A Manalapan resident reported that someone threw an egg at their vehicle.

Sept. 5
A 75-year-old Manalapan resident reported that someone they knew has been writing fraudulent checks in their name.
Sept. 6
A construction company in Manalapan reported that multiple items had been unlawfully removed from their construction site. The business is at a total monetary loss of $335.

A 63-year-old Manalapan resident reported that a fraudulent link was sent to them from a person they met online. The accused sent a link requesting $202.76, though the victim did not send any money and is at no monetary loss at this time.
A 29-year-old Manalapan resident reported that someone threatened to blackmail them by sending their explicit photos to their family members and friends.
Sept. 7
A Manalapan retail store reported that someone had harassed employees and then pulled out a multicolored toy gun at them.
Sept. 8
A 52-year-old Manalapan resident reported an incident of identity theft. The victim reported that someone they know is using the victim’s personal information to send emails and use a payment system. There is no monetary loss at this time.
An 89-year-old Manalapan resident reported that someone intercepted a mailed check for $3,238.03 and successfully cashed the check. At this time, monetary loss of $3,238.03 has been reported.
At 6 p.m., Ptlm. Hunter Mauro conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 9 for a motor vehicle violation. The driver of the vehicle was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and brought to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters, where he was processed and released with a future court date.
Sept. 9
A 33-year-old Manalapan resident reported that someone opened up a checking and savings account under their name. No loss of value was reported at this time.
