MANALAPAN, NJ — Manalapan Police reported incidents of fraud, vandalism, theft of property and more from June 19 through June 24.
June 19
A Manalapan resident reported that while they were away, someone they did not know stole their bag, which contained approximately $4,000 in cash, at a care center where they’re residing.
June 21
A 66-year-old Manalapan resident reported that someone they knew filed for a student loan of $10,000 and forged their signature.

Around 8 p.m., patrols responded to Peking Pavilion for a report of vandalism to a motor vehicle. Upon further investigation, the suspect was identified and issued a summons of criminal mischief. The case is pending a future court date.
June 23
At 8:45 a.m., a construction company in Manalapan reported that someone they did not know took various pieces of copper piping from inside the construction site, as well as cut electrical wire on location, resulting in a total of $6,000 worth of damages/missing property.

A 71-year-old Manalapan resident reported that they contracted with a renovation company for work to be done. The victim made a $1,000 deposit payment; however, the work was never completed, and the deposit was not returned.
A 49-year-old Manalapan resident reported that a tax return was filed under their name. The victim is at no monetary loss at this time.
June 24
An 82-year-old Manalapan resident reported they were defrauded of $4,850 by someone they did not know. The incident is pending further investigation.
A 35-year-old Manalapan resident reported that someone has been using old license plates that were assumed lost, and the victim is now receiving EZPass fines.
A 78-year-old Manalapan resident reported that a company posing as “USA Temple” defrauded approximately $1,998 from his bank account.
