Historic Village Inn Struck and Damaged Again — Second Incident in Three Months
ENGLISHTOWN, NJ — The Historic Village Inn, a 300-year-old landmark in the heart of Englishtown, was once again damaged in an apparent hit-and-run incident. Sometime on Monday, June 23rd, an unknown vehicle—possibly a car or truck—struck the corner of the Inn at Water Street and Main Street. This marks the second such incident in just three months.
The Battleground Historical Society, caretakers of the Inn, is calling on the local community for assistance.
“It's heartbreaking to see a piece of our town’s history treated so carelessly,” said Joseph Miczak, President of the Battleground Historical Society. “The Village Inn has stood for centuries and has witnessed the birth and growth of Englishtown. We are urging anyone with information to come forward—and we need the community’s help to restore this beloved building.”
