How Much Is COVID Spreading In Monmouth Co. With Delta Emerging?

MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ — Positive cases of COVID-19 have been on the rise in New Jersey as the delta variant continues to spread, and Monmouth County now has a "high" level of community transmission, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The county had an increase of 431 positive cases between Monday and Thursday, according to Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone and Commissioner Deputy Director Susan M. Kiley.

During the same time period, there was also one new death related to COVID-19 reported in the county.

Howell reported the most number of new positive cases in the county (16.67 percent of the total), followed by Middletown (16.67 percent) and Manalapan (11.34 percent).

Most of New Jersey counties now have a "substantial" level of transmission, with the exception of Cumberland, Cape May, Burlington and Monmouth ("high") and Warren ("moderate"), according to the CDC.
