Learn Child Behavior Tips From Manalapan-Eng. District Expert

The Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District will host a program Feb. 29 at the Middle School about managing your child's behavior.

MANALAPAN-ENGLISHTOWN, NJ — A district board-certified behavior analyst will offer insight to parents about managing their child's behavior at a program Feb. 29 at the Manalapan-Englishtown Middle School.

The program runs from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and is presented by the Special Education Parent Advisory Group, SEPAG.

Robyn Park, district-wide BCBA, will present the program.

Park has a masters of science degree with an emphasis on Cognitive and Behavioral Disabilities, a masters certificate in Behavior Analysis, and an Educational Supervisor certification, as well as the BCBA Supervisor certification, the district said.

This training is for parents of students with special needs in all grades (pre-school to Grade 8), the district said.

Evidence-based methodologies and strategies will be presented to help parents gain a better understanding of why a child is behaving in a specific way, how to respond after a behavior occurs, as well as strategies to use before a behavior happens - and teaching socially appropriate behaviors, said District Superintendent Nicole Santora, Ed. D.

Park, who has been with the district since 2007, has held multiple positions there, including instructional assistant, special education teacher and special education teacher coach.
