Lewdness During Telehealth Visit Reported, Manalapan Police Say

A report of lewdness, as well as nearly $30,000 in frauds, among incidents reported by Manalapan police in recent crime wrap-up.

MANALAPAN, NJ — A Manalapan resident informed police of a lewd act that took place during a telehealth visit, the department said.

In its regular report on incidents in the township, police said that the resident, age 50, told them on Feb. 15 that a man committed the act during the virtual appointment.

The identity of the person was not disclosed, but the matter is pending further investigation. Patrolman Abdoulaye Diagne handled the report.

There were other incidents reported by police, including the following frauds:

  • Feb. 16: A resident, 84, reported that a person made approximately $20,000 in fraudulent charges using the victim’s credit card information. Patrolman Diagne handled the report, which is pending further investigation.
  • Feb. 15: A resident, 79, reported that a person used their identity to obtain a loan in the amount of $9,876. Patrolman Marshall Bitsko handled the report, which is also pending further investigation.

  • Feb. 19: Employees of the Wawa, located at 146 Woodward Road in Manalapan, reported that a person stole approximately $60 worth of gasoline from the business. Patrolman Everett McNulty handled the report, which is pending further investigation.
  • Feb. 18: Employees of Home Goods, Route 9 in Manalapan, reported that two people shoplifted merchandise valued at approximately $789.96. Patrolman Christopher Capuzzo handled the report, which is pending further investigation.
  • Feb. 15: Employees of Romeos Pizza, 130 Route 33 in Manalapan, reported that an unknown person unlawfully removed used cooking oil, valued at approximately $1,200. Patrolman Jeffrey Emslie handled the report.
  • Feb. 15: A Manalapan resident, 58, and another resident, 55, reported that someone burglarized two motor vehicles that were parked in the parking lot of 285 Gordons Corner Road and removed property valued at approximately $500. Patrolman Peter Pagano handled the report, which is pending further investigation.
