Manalapan National Night Out a Success, Police Say; Plan to Continue Community Interaction

Manalapan Police will be continuing community relations by giving away coupons and stopping to speak with children around town.

After a very successful National Night Out event on August 5, the Manalapan Township Police Department will be continuing to enhance the police-community relationship through the month of August, by specifically interacting with the youth in the community.

Thanks to the generosity of some local business partners, the Police Officers will be presenting children with coupons for a free item at one of the participating businesses. Officers will stop while on patrol in the residential areas of town, at the recreation center or at a local shopping center. Officers will introduce themselves to the kids and speak with them. If an officer sees kids and they are playing a game, such as basketball or soccer, they will play with them a few minutes. If an officer observes a child biking while wearing a helmet, officers will then present them with a coupon as well.

The program will run through August or until the coupons run out. The police department would like to thank the following local businesses:
