Manalapan Rec Youth Basketball Tryouts Will Be Next Week
Athletes will be divided into six categories according to age, from grades three to eight. Here is the schedule for each one.
MANALAPAN, NJ — The Manalapan Parks and Recreation is holding tryouts next week for its youth basketball travel team.
Spectators will be allowed at the tryouts but should remain quiet on the sidelines.
Kids grades between six and eight will play September through December and those in grades between three and five will play December through February. Practices will be once or twice a week.

There's a $300 charge to cover the cost of all the league fees, tournaments, uniforms and insurance. It is only due when the athlete gets chosen for the final team.

Girls in third grade (born between Aug. 2012 and July 2013):
Sept. 13, between 6 and 7:15 p.m.; Sept. 14., between 6 and 7:15 p.m. (third-grade girls will have the opportunity to make the fourth-grade girls team as there is no Mid Monmouth program for this age level.)
Boys in Third grade (born between Aug. 2012 and July 2013):
Sept. 13, between 6 and 7:15 p.m.; Sept. 14., between 6 and 7:15 p.m.
Girls in fourth grade (born between Aug. 2011 and July 2012):
Sept. 13, between 6 and 7:15 p.m.; Sept. 14., between 6 and 7:15 p.m.
Boys in fourth grade (born between Aug. 2011 and July 2012):
Sept. 13, between 7:30 and 8:45 p.m.; Sept. 18., between 10 and 11:15 a.m.
Girls in fourth grade (born between Aug. 2010 and July 2011):
Sept. 13, between 6 and 7:15 p.m.; Sept. 14., between 6 and 7:15 p.m.
Boys in fourth grade (born between Aug. 2010 and July 2011):
Sept. 13, between 7 and 8:45 p.m.; Sept. 18., between 10 and 11:15 a.m.
Boys in sixth grade (born between Aug. 2009 and July 2010):
Sept. 14, between 7:30 and 8:45 p.m.; Sept. 18., between 11:30 a.m. and 12:45 p.m.
Boys in eighth grade (born between Aug. 2007 and July 2008):
Sept. 14, between 7:30 and 8:45 p.m.; Sept. 18., between 11:30 a.m. and 12:45 p.m.
