More Car Burglaries Reported In Parking Lots In Manalapan

Two victims lost more than $1,000 each when their cars were burglarized at area businesses, among other thefts reported by Manalapan police.

MANALAPAN, NJ — Two people lost property worth nearly $3,000 when thieves entered their parked cars, police said.

On March 16, a Manalapan resident, 56, told police his car was burglarized while parked in the parking lot of a business at 345 Route 9. The thief removed property valued at approximately $1,250. Patrolman Everett McNulty handled the report.

Also on March 16, a Freehold resident, 38, said someone burglarized a car parked in the parking lot of a business at 149 Freehold Road and took $1,450 worth of property. Christopher Capuzzo handled the report.

There was no information provided regarding whether the cars were locked or not. But police here regularly advise keeping cars locked and taking the key fob - and keeping valuables out of sight in the car or SUV.

  • March 16: Employees of the Englishtown Auction, 90 Wilson Avenue, reported that someone entered a business on the property and removed approximately $12,000 worth of merchandise. Patrolman Brian Schank handled the report.
  • March 15: A Manalapan resident, 51, reported that someone entered the garage of a Maple Knoll Lane residence and removed items valued at approximately $3,000. Patrolman Hunter Mauro handled the report.

All matters are being investigated.
