‘A Good Hangout Spot For Everyone’: New Bagel Store In The Works For Manalapan

With hopes to open this summer, the new store plans to offer bagels, pastries, seasonal drinks and more.

MANALAPAN, NJ — Calling all bagel lovers! A new bagel store is coming to Manalapan, with hopes to open this summer.

Whether you’re looking for a wide-spread bagel selection, health-conscious menu choices, or drinks and baked goods, The Bagel Bar NJ plans to host a variety of menu items, Store Owner Will Shuster said.

Shuster, 28, of Staten Island, said the idea to open The Bagel Bar NJ came after he moved to Manalapan a couple of months ago and noticed there weren’t many breakfast places with expansive menu options.

At the new store, Shuster said he hopes to create a menu that accommodates all kinds of food options for customers.

“The bagel stores around here don’t typically have like bacon, egg, and cheeses or breakfast sandwiches, things like that,” Shuster said. “So this would be a store accommodating everyone — having gluten-free options, vegan or tofu cream cheeses and health-conscious menu choices.”

In addition to bagels (which will be at the forefront of the store), Shuster said he also plans to have options like specialty coffees, baked goods, pastries and seasonal drinks.

Once open, he plans to have the bagel-making process shown in the store window as well, so people can see the kettle, bagel oven and bagels being hand-rolled as they walk by.

“I want the store to have a modern but cozy feel,” Shuster said. “Very friendly service, smiles, people saying ‘good morning’ — a good hangout spot for everyone.”

While an opening date for The Bagel Bar NJ hasn’t been set just yet, Shuster said he hopes to open the store this summer on Union Hill Road.
